Gmail and Tern
Tern captures the Gmail threads your agents open, with headers and attachment details. It drafts replies straight into the composer for a person to send.
How Gmail connects
Plain facts
- Email address is the identifier and is matched across channels
- No mailbox scope or admin consent is required for capture
- Attachments are referenced by name, not copied, unless the agent logs them
What Tern captures
When an agent opens a thread in Gmail, the extension reads the messages, headers and attachment names and writes them to the lead identified by email address. Nothing is read from threads the agent does not open.
How a reply goes out
Reply drafts are inserted into Gmail's composer. The agent edits and sends. Reminders and transactional email from Tern itself go through Tern's own sender.
