Billing and usage caps

The one Tern plan, the 14 day trial, the three monthly allowances, what happens at 80 percent and at the cap and where invoices live.

Updated

Tern has one plan with everything included: $99 per workspace per month, cancel any time, with a 14 day free trial. Three things that cost money per use have monthly allowances. Everything else is unlimited. Only a workspace owner or admin can change billing.

Start the trial

  1. Create your workspace. The second step of setup is Start your free trial.
  2. Press Start your 14 day free trial. A secure checkout opens.
  3. Enter a card. A card is needed to start: it is not charged until the trial ends and you can cancel any time.
  4. Back in Tern, the plan shows Trial with the days left.

When fewer than five days are left a banner at the top of Tern says when the trial ends and links to Billing.

See your plan and invoices

  1. In the sidebar open Settings, then Billing.
  2. The plan card shows the status, which is one of Trial, Active, Cancels at period end, Payment failed, Canceled or Checkout not finished.
  3. Under it you will find Trial ends or Next renewal, then Allowances reset.
  4. Press Manage billing and invoices to open the billing portal. Invoices, receipts, the card on file and cancellation live there.

What is included

  1. Up to 5 seats, unlimited leads and contacts.
  2. Bridge capture, playbooks, automations, Kanban and QA.
  3. Calls through your own Zoom Phone, recorded and transcribed.
  4. WhatsApp replies inside the 24 hour window.

The three monthly allowances

To check them:

  1. Open Settings, then Billing.
  2. Scroll to This month's allowances. Each row shows what is used against the cap, for example 96 / 150.
  3. The line under the heading gives the dates of the current month. Allowances reset on your billing anniversary, not on the first of the month.

At 80 percent

  1. The row on the billing page says Over 80 percent used with the reset date.
  2. Each workspace owner gets one email for that allowance, with a See usage button.
  3. Everything keeps working until the allowance is reached.

At the cap

When an allowance runs out the feature pauses until the reset. Nothing is charged on top.

  1. The row says Allowance reached and names the date the pause ends.
  2. Each owner gets one email saying the allowance is reached.
  3. Tern skips the steps that need the allowance and carries on with everything else. A playbook falls back to its next step, such as a call task. AI analyses queue until the reset.
  4. Need more sooner? Email sales@fastflowup.com.

If a payment fails

  1. The plan shows Payment failed and a date under Update the card by.
  2. Press Manage billing and invoices and update the card before that date.
  3. After that date the dashboard is paused and shows Your last payment did not go through. Press Update card and retry payment. Nothing has been deleted: your leads, conversations and playbooks are waiting.

Cancel or come back

  1. Cancel from the billing portal behind Manage billing and invoices. The plan shows Cancels at period end and Access ends with the date.
  2. After that date Tern shows This subscription has ended. Everything in the workspace is kept for 30 days so you can export it or resume.
  3. To come back, press Subscribe again on the billing page.
